Suber Lab is an innovative Italian start-up founded by three researchers, employees of Tofwerk, which is the company that patented the Vocus Cork Analyzer technology and peer-reviewed the first industrial method for quantifying TCA in cork.
After a pilot project carried out at the Swiss headquarters of Tofwerk in 2021 - 2022, which involved four cork producers for a total of more than 3 million corks analyzed, the members of Suber Lab decided to purchase a Vocus Cork Analyzer plant to offer an external analysis service to all cork producers, and to set up in Sardinia, the Italian region historically most dedicated to the cultivation of cork oak and the processing of the product.
The experience and knowledge of the cork and wine markets at an international level, the deep scientific skills and the close collaborations with centers of research excellence make the know-how of the Suber Lab team unique.
PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS
TOFWERK AG - SWITZERLAND
Tofwerk is the main strategic partner of Suber Lab. Tofwerk and Suber Lab collaborate for the dissemination of the Vocus Cork Analyzertechnology and for establishing it as the new analysis standard for all high-quality cork producers.
Tofwerk has recently formed a partnership with the company Bruker, for specific applications of real-time mass spectrometry in specific industrial sectors, of which the cork world is an example.
